DOVIA Leadership

Who runs DOVIA?  We are run by volunteers – our Board of Directors and 6 standing committees.  The board consists of 15-18 representatives elected by the general DOVIA membership at the annual meeting in October.   Each board member chairs or co-chairs on of the committees. These hardworking people are the behind-the-scenes organizers of all DOVIA activities.  DOVIA has no paid administrators, and since the general membership only meets once a year, the majority of work is accomplished by the Board and committee members, in addition to their regular fulltime jobs.  Each Board member serves a 3-year term, and can be elected for an additional three-year term. Committee members from the membership at large serve at least a year.  Board and/or committee involvement is a great opportunity to become more involved in the field of volunteer management, learn new skills, and best of all, make great friends.  Below is a list of board members and the standing committees.  Please contact the nominating chair if you are interesting in board membership, or the committee chair of any committee you may be interested in.
